When our clients decided to renovate and add on to their longtime home, we were brought in after architectural plans were complete but before construction began. The existing kitchen presented the kinds of challenges common in older homes, including low ceilings, structural beams, plumbing constraints, and a layout that did not fully support the way our client used the space. Our goal was to rework the kitchen into a more functional, sophisticated, and contemporary design while thoughtfully addressing the home’s architectural limitations.
We revised the kitchen layout to improve flow, storage, prep space, and everyday usability. Structural supports and drain lines were carefully concealed, while soft white cabinetry, walls, and ceilings helped visually lift the low ceiling and create a brighter, more seamless look. Expansive cabinetry, generous countertops, beverage access, and ample island seating now support the family gatherings our clients love to host, creating a refined kitchen renovation designed for both daily life and entertaining.
